![]() ![]() ![]() Today, Modine continues to be a globally innovative company designing, manufacturing, and testing heat transfer products for a wide variety of markets and applications in practically every corner of the world. This international success during the 80's and 90's allowed Modine to pursue even more major acquisitions during the early 2000's, further expanding their product offerings into building HVAC systems such as roof top packaged units, cooling systems for data centers, unit heaters, commercial chillers and more. The 1980's saw Modine's acquisitions of several international companies. Through the years Modine's product line expands with new innovations including development of the Unit Cooler in 1935, a precursor to modern air conditioning redesign of the P-51 Mustang fighter plane Supercharger Aftercooler during WWII heating and cooling systems for school buildings during the 1960's as well as radiators, condensers, and evaporators for the ever changing automotive and heavy equipment markets. In 1928 Modine's heating division was officially established, and Modine became a publicly traded company. This type of convection heater becomes a staple of Modine's product line, and is still sold and installed today! 1923 saw the development of the Cabinet Heater, a convective system that could heat an entire room with only rising air. Modine developed the unit heater out of spare parts to keep his employees warm during the winter months in the assembly areas.
